The Fool Of All Fools

There is nothing worse

Than being laughed behind your back

All this time you thought

Your “friends” laughed with you

But they laughed at you

Looking back in the past

You look at how you worked

So hard to be funny

And to make fun of yourself

Just so they could not make fun of you first

You just wanted to get there first

And to take out the sting

Of the mocking and laughter

It’s all you deserve but still

You don’t want it.

Yet it comes anyhow

And no matter what you tried

It fails and you still get mocked

And the sting comes and burns and humiliates.

Emptiness follows numbness

As you face the facts

That you are nothing

Nothing at all.

Just an object of scorn and mockery.

A poem a person can feel and relate to, even if a person shouldn't be able to.
    Epic, Kal

  2. This is beautiful, Kallie. It's perfectly worded to raise a melancholic mood, so meaningful, also.
You're brilliant, Kal. You have talent beyond the comprehension of words themselves. *hugs tightly*
